প্রিয় দর্শক এবং শ্রোতা বন্ধুদের সুস্বাস্থ্য কামনা করে একথা জানাতে চাই যে আমি নিজেকে শিল্পী হিসেবে খুব একটা উচ্চস্তরের কখনোই ভাবি নি । আমি আরো বহু সাধারণ মানুষের মতোই ভুল, দোষ, ক্রুটিতে ভরা একজন মানুষ মাত্র । এই গানটিও যে সেই সমস্ত ভুল ত্রুটির উর্ধে তা কখনোই বলবো না। বরং ভালো গাইতে না পারাকে স্বীকার করে নিয়েই আজ এই ভয়ঙ্কর দুর্দিনে, সেই সব সাধারণ মানুষ যাদের জীবন আজ লকডাউনের ফলে সবচেয়ে বেশি বিপন্ন তাঁদের প্রবল দুর্দশার দিন কেটে যাওয়ার দোয়া করেই এই ভিডিওটি গ্রাম বাংলার শ্রমজীবী মানুষের উদ্দেশ্যে উৎসর্গ করলাম. এনারা আছেন বলেই আমরা আছি. আমরা, যাদের লকডাউন মানার আর্থিক সামর্থ আছে, তাঁদের এই সমস্ত খেটে খাওয়া মানুষদের পাশে দাঁড়াতে অনুরোধ জানাই. দেশ, কাল, গন্ডির উর্ধে এরাই আমাদের সোনার মানুষ।



As an artist I have never considered myself to be extraordinary or complete. Like every ordinary human being I am just another man with flaws and vices. There is no artistic expertise to exhibit, in this time of acute distress. Millions of underprivileged people are adversely affected , as a result of lockdowns imposed to restrict the spread of the pandemic throughout the subcontinent and the world. Rather, admitting my inabilities as an artist, I pledge to all the privileged people of the subcontinent (Bangladesh, India, Nepal) who can afford to stay home and maintain social distancing, to realise the conditions of extreme poverty and starvation that millions of working class people are going through. I urge all to come forward in whatever way we can, to contribute in sending aid to these people. Our population densities are huge and hence the damage can be irreparable, if we don't feel compassionate today. We can afford our privileges because of these people ,who work day and night. Let's all come together beyond borders, countries, races and divides and stand together as humanity.

This video was shot much before the COVID-19 lockdown was announced in India.

Both the songs used in this jam are traditional sufi songs sung all across Bangladesh and West Bengal. Dekhe Ja Re is a beautiful old Maizbhandari song originating in Bangladesh. Maizbhandari is a liberated Sufi order established in Bangladesh in the 19th century by Gausul Azam Shah Sufi Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari (1826 AD − 1906 AD). Boshonto Batashe is one of the most eminent sufi songs of love and seperation written by the Baul Shah Abdul Karim from Sylhet, Bangladesh. Both of these songs are sung by millions across the world in different versions spreading a common message of love and humanity.
