I listen to news every day. I have installed various news channel apps that keep me posted throughout the day. I remember back in days when we don’t have any internet and mobile phones. We relied on national news channel and newspaper. So there was a news about cellular services getting cheaper. As usual I received the English Tribune newspaper and its front page was all colourful with spice sim card and mobile phone flashing on full page. At first I didn’t read it properly and ignored it as a usual advertisement from companies and started reading the following pages for current affairs. Later when I finished reading and folded back the newspaper , incoming free written in attractive fonts caught my eye. I was excited to learn that the incoming calls are totally getting free because back then the outgoing was charged as rs 8/min and incoming as rs 4/min. The new tariffs that the news displayed were as incoming totally free and outgoing rs 2.5/min. this was a big news for everyone. Later our whole neighbourhood was seen talking about it all day. People were so excited to buy mobile phones because the service suddenly became affordable. I also thought of getting me a new phone as now I could carry it in my pocket as compared to the cordless which had a limited range of half kilometer from the receiver. I bought my first ever phone of Nokia brand a week later from that news. I didn’t sleep for whole night as I kept fiddling with the features of my new gadget. I was super excited that day. I think that was the day that after reading that news everyone started to switch to cellular services and that news revolutionized the mobile phone industry in india. So, there are various news that excites us and we don’t forget it for whole life.
