Step 1 place house
Step 2 try to save house (it will fail to save, that is part of the progress)
Step 3 open blue print (click middle option X Check)
Step 4 click on the section that says what items you are missing (press R3 to call problematic decor)
Step 5 Dye all the pieces that are part of the house (the update should have given you enough dye paint. If you used it elsewhere, you will have to make more)
Step 5 hit save, it will save now
Step 6 enjoy house

PS If it doesn't save, maybe try unlocking all the house pieces recipes. If you need extra bling sell a some trees. The pink ones sell for 15,000 crystals. If you need to make space for the house, you can erase that huge mountain you see on the other side of the island. Even if you cannot build on that side of the island yet, it still counts for load. So, unlock entire island first, and then remove trees to lower to load enough to set the new house. I hope you find it useful.
