Now the fourth Scania vehicle to feature on the channel is this Scania Omnidekka, coming after Stagecoach SE's 15288, First WoE's 39472, and Sullivan's DS52. This bus started off in London under the ownership of Metrobus numbered '438' and then later moved onto Aintree at the end of it's TfL service, then presently owned by REL Tendring Travel! Throughout the video, kickdown is used everywhere, hence the amount of downshifts... one segment including redlines from 1st through to 4th, and a section where the bus was thrashed up to it's top speed of 58mph! As I've mentioned before I'm not really a Scania guy but I see the N94 hype now, that roaring DC9 engine alongside the fans sounding as they are shows pure character even though this bus wasn't the fastest... and I can only appreciate it so much as they weren't really local to me when they were quite common in London. Also, don't the axles remind you of a Euro 2 ZF Trident?? I'm getting strong vibes from them...
This should bring back some good memories for those around South/South-East London when these ripped the roads!
