At first, I thought this was going to be an easy group of fosters—no behavior challenges, no immediate health concerns besides minor bugs. Boy, was I wrong. You remember the struggles Puff and I went through. We made it past that, and Coco and Puff found the perfect family.

It took much longer for the Minis to find their people. I started searching much earlier because I wanted to get them adopted together, knowing how hard it is to find a family willing to take three kittens. At least I wanted to try. I had a lot of applications for the girls, but not many for Pebbles. Since Pebbles is more independent and adaptable, I moved on to finding a family for the girls and another for Pebbles—so long as they had another friendly kitty or pup.

Then the girls picked up something no medical expert could pinpoint. Through elimination and trials, I finally figured out the culprit and got them back to full health. During treatment, the applications fell through, and we were back to square one.

In the end, I feel like things happened for a reason. I went through frustration, disappointment, and confusion. But just like with Puff, I kept going until I found what I believed the Minis needed—and I did.

I don’t usually take my kittens away from home for adoption because I want the adopters to meet them in their happy element. Luckily, they had already been on a mini road trip with us recently and had shown me how adaptable they are in a new environment. And the fact that this family wanted all of them—I was willing to do whatever I could to make it happen.

What a ride it’s been. I can finally take a deep breath and let the weight lift off my shoulders.
