Skipped Stitches: Lockstitch

Описание к видео Skipped Stitches: Lockstitch

This animation shows how skipped stitches can occur in a lockstitch seam.

A lockstitch is formed by a needle thread and a bobbin thread. During the upward movement of the needle, the needle thread forms a loop which is picked up by the hook and guided around the bobbin case, interlocking the needle thread and the bobbin thread. However, if the needle thread does not form a loop or forms an insufficient loop, the hook cannot pick up the needle thread. The result is a so-called skipped stitch.
