Storm Gabrielle has unleashed historic levels of rainfall on the Spanish island of Ibiza, causing widespread flooding and prompting a massive emergency response. According to the Spanish weather agency AEMET, October 1 marked the rainiest day in over 70 years for Ibiza, as 254 mm of rain fell within just a few hours—more than half the island's average annual rainfall.
