The Light of Knowledge was kindled today in Kokrajhar, the City of Peace as the First-Ever Bodoland International Knowledge Festival was inaugurated in an auspicious ceremony in Bodoland University.

We were graced by the august presence of Hon’ Chief Guest Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus on this momentous occasion.

The Festival was honoured with the presence of His Excellency Mr. Jigme Thinlye Namgyal, Consul General of Bhutan in India.

Hon’ Speaker ALA, Shri Biswajit Daimary; Hon’ Cabinet Minister, Govt of Assam, Shri Urkhao Gwra Brahma_Official; Shri Kati Ram Baro Official, Hon’ble Speaker BTCLA; & Deputy CEM Shri Gobinda Ch Basumatary Official graced the ceremony.

The presence of celebrated innovator & educationist Shri
Sonam Wangchuk; noted actor, film-maker & philanthropist, Shri
Vivek Anand Oberoi, blessed the ceremony.

Carrying the torch of knowledge high were distinguished Vice Chancellors of various universities from across India.

Respected entrepreneur & philanthropist Padma Shri Savji Bhai Dholakia Ji, a well-known entrepreneur; preeminent peace advocate charismatic leader & Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity awardee Shri Niketu Iralu; graced the ceremony.

Dr. Prasanta Boro, ex General Secretary, BSS; Shri Dipen Boro, President of ABSU; several dignitaries, and my dear student friends, brothers, sisters, mothers & fathers of BTR, and friends from the media, made the inaugural ceremony a grand occasion with their kind presence.
