Originally made for one of last months Sketchfab challenges with only days to work on the project due to other commitments, I was unable to upload the animation in time for the deadline due to technical issues with the export.

Instead of scraping the work I had done I took the opportunity to learn how to use blenders render layers in the compositor as I felt it could be useful in my current HND project I'm doing. When working on this project I given the tribute aspect I knew that I wanted to incorporate various elements from the bands history, iconography and somehow their music.

This is where I got the idea for the audio visualiser concept as well as the use of pyramids being a famous part of some of their shows and branding. I tied this further into the idea of remembrance and being a tribute through the Egyptian theme taking inspiration from the temples and monuments to the pharaohs, and includes small details like the hieroglyphs spelling out Daft Punk. I also incorporated the gold and sliver colour scheme from their helmets design in their second album and the retro/neon aspects of their music. Lastly the choice of music is from Tron Legacy which Daft Punk worked on the score and given the theme for the challenge and being monument to the bands history and the tracks focus on legacy the choice to use it is rather self explanatory.

Project was modelled, animated, rendered and composited in blender, looked dev'd and textured in Substance Painter and lastly sequenced and had a little post work done in After effects. All work is my own with the exception of the Thomas helmet which I used a free premade model of to save time credit bellow.
