Divers have just located a missing U.S. Liberty ship sunk in 1943 carrying a full cargo of weapons, ammunition and military equipment for the Soviet Union under Lend-Lease. This sunken WWII weapons ship was found completely intact at 37 meters depth after 81 years on the seabed.
The wreck is covered in marine growth but the deadly cargo remains untouched: 37 mm anti-aircraft guns still loaded, thousands of artillery shells in boxes, rifles, machine guns and explosives frozen in time inside the holds. Original American markings and U.S. Navy inventory plates are clearly visible on the ammunition crates.
In this silent night dive we explore the ghost ship deck, enter the dark corridors and show you the perfectly preserved WWII weapons arsenal that never reached its destination. Skeleton of a crew member still sits at his battle station next to the gun.
