👣Toe tapping has helped many people, myself included, to relieve anxiety and release excess energy and stress, naturally. It’s a somatic exercise that can help activate your parasympathetic nervous system and help lower your brain waves to a sleep-like state, which is why toe tapping is awesome before bed. It consists of very simple movements that stimulate the lower body drawing energy away from our head, where all the overthinking happens. Today after we learn the exercise we’ll do some repetitions. So I hope you’ll follow along to experience some deep relaxation and help stop overthinking before bed.

🤔How many times should I do toe tapping?

Each individual should do what’s right for his or her physical condition. Someone who’s flexible with fewer blockages could do several hundred repetitions in one set. Someone who’s having problems with blood circulation might find it hard to do several dozen.

😅Is it normal to feel discomfort while toe tapping?

Yes, these are the places where energy has been blocked and you are stimulating blood flow to. Also areas that you may not have noticed before you may become more aware of as you increase your sensitivity. You definitely do not have to force yourself to endure that pain, gently stop moving and breathe, the pain should start to dissipate and you can try again.

Some discomfort is necessary but keep in mind the goal is not to do a lot of repetitions but to focus on circulation and relaxation. Don’t overdo it, do this exercise in a way that’s right for your physical condition.

🥲What should I do if there is pain in my toes?

If the bones before your big toes hurt, do not tap there, it helps to offset your feet slightly, flexing one ankle slightly so that the bones of one foot will touch the archway of the other instead of hitting directly. Or simply open your legs and just shake instead of tap.
