Bach - Cantata Preise Jerusalem den Herrn BWV 119 - Dijkstra | Netherlands Bach Society

Bach pulls out all the stops in "Preise, Jerusalem, den Herrn", BWV 119, performed here by the Netherlands Bach Society conducted by Peter Dijkstra for All of Bach. He wrote this music, a Ratswahlkantate (a town council inauguration cantata), for a festive church service in honour of the annual change of the town council in 1723.
