While the Pandavas may have ascended to heaven from the summit of Mt. Swargarohini, the first modern day human beings to have climbed the peak were the Indo-Tibetan Border Police folks in June 1990. See visuals from their Advanced Base Camp as the team collects gear and does very basic ice climbing work on the slopes above the camp.

We may have his name wrong but the person in blue and red is supposedly Parmal Singh Dharmshaktu from Pithoragarh in Kumaon.
