Borderlands 4 is a 2025 action role-playing first-person looter shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. It is a sequel to Borderlands 3 (2019) and the fifth mainline entry in the Borderlands series. The game was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 12, 2025, and is scheduled for release Nintendo Switch 2 on October 3, 2025. It received positive reviews who consider it as return to form of the series and major improvement of Borderlands 3, praising it's refined gunplay, improved writing and graphics but it's performance issues on PC have been criticized
