Dwight: Hola. Buen día. My name is Dwight. Welcome to Insurance Spanish. Maybe you studied Spanish in school. Maybe you even grew up speaking Spanish at home, but now you are in the business world, and you need business vocabulary. Come with me as we go on location to look at Insurance Spanish in action.

Today I am here with Itzel in a tree house in San Diego, California. Our phrase for the week is:

Collision coverage will pay the cost minus your deductible of repairing or replacing your car when it is damaged in an accident.

Itzel: La cobertura contra choque pagará el costo de reparación o emplazo de su automóvil cuando este ha sido dañado en un accidente. Este pago se hace después de recibirse el deducible.

Dwight: Physical damage coverage is divided into two different categories: Comprehensive Coverage and collision coverage. Comprehensive coverage will pay the cost, minus your deductible, of repairing or replacing your car when it is damage by a storm, fire, vandalism, or theft. The term for comprehensive coverage in Spanish is:

Itzel: Cobertura completa o cobertura todo riesgo.

Dwight The term for collision coverage in Spanish is:

Itzel: Cobertura contra choque.

Dwight: As the name implies, collision coverage provides coverage in case you are in an accident. It does not provide coverage to repair or replace your vehicle if your car is damaged or destroyed by things like a storm or fire.

Itzel: Como su nombre lo indica la cobertura contra choque solo aplica en caso de accidente. La cobertura contra choque no cobre daños producidos por eventos tales como tormentas o incendios.
