You must see how Latvians celebrate the Shortest Night of the Year! We spent the summer solstice in Latvia — and wow, it was something unique!
Don't worry, the Namibia Episode is coming up next, but in the meantime, we wanted to show you a little part of our culture. This is how Latvians celebrate the longest day of the year: with flower crowns, bonfires that burn all night, singing, dancing, beer, cheese, and a whole lot of tradition.
Locals call it Jāņi, and it’s one of the most important holidays here. We joined in to show you what it's really like — from making wreaths (flower crowns) to staying up until sunrise.
If you’ve never experienced midsummer the Latvian way, this might surprise you.
