Join Mary and her friend Ola as they show you the best of Polish Independence Day. There are so many options and activities happening around Poland on November 11th, but since the girls are Warszawianki…Warsaw girls, of course they have to show you what takes place in the capital. Sometimes this holiday gets a bad wrap from its infamous march that takes place, but this holiday is so much more than one march. It is one of the most crucial holidays for Poles in Poland and around the world. From 1772 to November 11th, 1918, Poland was partitioned between 3 countries, though it had been it’s own sovereign nation since around 1,000 A.D. After the end of World War I, Poland regained it's independence. So getting to be in Poland on its Independence Day, is a real honor and experience. The point of this episode is to show some of the family friendly cultural events that a person can enjoy in #Warsaw. There are so many options from parades, workshops for children, musical concerts, and even traditional Polish dancing.
