Title: Image Analysis in Medical Diagnosis and Precision Agriculture
Speaker: Prof. Neelam Sinha, Debanjali Bhattacharya, and Atharva Kadethankar, IIIT Bangalore

Abstract:
In this talk, we will present a few applications of Image analysis in two different domains (a) Medical Diagnosis (b) Precision Agriculture.
Several aspects of advanced Healthcare rely on CAD (Computer-Assisted Diagnosis). An important element of CAD for cancer monitoring is the ability to evaluate procedures such as tumor segmentation. We will present results based on a small-segment emphasized performance metric.
Besides, we will also present works on analysis of Corpus callosum for Parkinsonian disorders as well as a technique to determine an Imaging signature to detect Mutation in Glioma tissues. As an application of Image Analysis in Precision Agriculture, we will present a work on detection of diseased coconut crowns using drone-based image acquisition, in Deep Learning framework.

Speaker Biography:
Neelam Sinha is an Associate Professor at IIITB. She received her Ph.D. from IISc, Bangalore. Her previous stints include MILE Lab, IISc and MR Imaging group at GE Healthcare, Bangalore. Her research interests are medical imaging and processing.
Debanjali Bhattacharya is a Ph.D. scholar working towards her thesis on “MRI Image signatures in Neuro-degeneration and Neuro-oncology”. She will be presenting her work on analysis of MR brain images, in collaboration with doctors from NIMHANS.
Atharva Kadethankar is a Master of Science by Research scholar working towards his thesis on “Applying computer vision in precision agriculture”. He will be presenting his work on detecting diseased coconut crowns in collaboration with researchers from General Aeronautics, a start-up at IISc.
