The Shaw Brothers Wang Yu Dubber

Does anybody know who this dubber is?

This is a highly prolific film dubber who was active in Hong Kong in the late 1960s and to a lesser degree in the early 1970s, dubbing possibly as early as 1966. He has 33 confirmed roles, and there were likely many more.

One specific pattern we can say with certainty is that he started voicing Jimmy Wang Yu in Ted Thomas's dubs of Shaw Brothers movies from The One-Armed Swordsman onward. And while he often did voice protagonists in general throughout the late 1960s, there is evidence he was brought back as the voice of Wang Yu in an SB film that may have been dubbed years later than his other roles as Wang Yu's English voice (The Chinese Boxer, a 1970 film likely dubbed in 1972, by which point many other voice actors started being used as the protagonist), hence the name I have coined, the Shaw Brothers Wang Yu dubber.

He is also known as "Gengo" by the Save All Dubs group, "Unidentified Gengo Odaka dubber" on Wikizilla, and "Unidentified Hong Kong Voice Actor 1" by YouTube user That VHS Guy.

He has a distinctive Canadian accent. On rare occasions he stammers. Every named film dubber active in HK at the time has been ruled out, and surviving dubbers have not been able to identify his voice.
