Returning from the 2024 Olympic Games with a total of 13 medals, including 8 gold medals, the Uzbekistan delegation was greeted with great enthusiasm in the capital Tashkent.

The Uzbekistan delegation, which participated in the Olympic Games in Paris with 90 athletes, won a total of 13 medals for the first time, including 8 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Uzbek athletes were enthusiastically welcomed at Tashkent Airport upon their return from Paris by the Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other senior Uzbek officials, as well as a large number of Uzbek citizens.

A large number of people gathered at the airport greeted the Uzbek athletes with slogans "Champions are coming".

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Senate President Narbayeva said that the success of Uzbek athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics once again showed how Uzbekistan is on the way to becoming a strong country, and that the importance attached by the country's leadership to youth and sports lies at the heart of this success.

Prime Minister Aripov also noted that in the period between the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, world championships in athletics, judo and boxing were held in Uzbekistan and said: "In recent years, Uzbekistan has turned into a sports country. All these events show this. The medals obtained at these Olympics are the fruits of this."
