These Iced Oatmeal Cookies are so yummy. The recipe is super easy to make.

3/4 C Shortening
1 C Brown Sugar
1/2 C Sugar
1/4 C Water
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 C Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
3/4 tsp. Cinnamon
2 C. Oats

2 C Powdered Sugar
2 tbsp. Milk
2-4 tbsp. water

Preheat Oven to 350°F

Combine the shortening, white sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat for 1-2 minutes until creamy and light in color. Add in the water and vanilla and mix.

Next add in the Flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Mix until just combined. Add in the oats and mix. Once fully combined scoop out onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Allow to cool completely before icing.

To make the icing, stir together the powdered sugar and milk. Thin with water, one tablespoon at a time. Dip each cookie in the icing and let sit until the icing has hardened.
