Loudness and pitch are two fundamental characteristics of sound, determined by the physical properties of sound waves. LOUDNESS (Amplitude):

Loudness is measured in decibels (dB), and the intensity of the sound is what our ears perceive as loudness.


PITCH (Frequency):
The frequency of a sound wave is the number of wave cycles that pass a point in one second, measured in Hertz (Hz).
Higher frequency sound waves have a higher pitch, while lower frequency sound waves have a lower pitch.
Humans can typically hear sound waves between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz

SONIC BOOM SOUND
A sonic boom is a loud, explosive sound created when an object, like an aircraft, moves faster than the speed of sound (approximately 761 mph at sea level). This happens because the pressure waves the object creates are compressed together, forming a shock wave that is heard as a sonic boom.
