Mount Stephen Scramble - Yoho National Park

Omar and I have been talking about Mount Stephen for about a year, and we were going to do it last year but ran out of time after dolomite peak. You need to get your permit a day in advance to pass through the Burgess Shale fossil fields. We ended up seeing a few fossils but kept going till out of the restricted zone. This peak has a whopping 1920 m of gain & most of it is done on a great trail. Once reaching the rock we took the ridge route up to the summit which was fun, difficult scrambling, lots of exposure but I found the rock to be decent with lots of good holds. Summit views were incredible as they were for most the day after leaving treeline. Thanks to Omar for joining on another big day in the mountains. Song is Peace Piece by Sean Shibe
