Hi friends, I’m Dr Praveen Kammar, Cancer Surgeon.

Uterine Cancer में Robotic और Laparoscopy Surgery! | Uterine Cancer Surgery | Dr Praveen Kammar
What Are Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeries?
Both are forms of minimally invasive surgery.
In laparoscopy, the surgeon manually handles long instruments through small incisions.
In robotic surgery, the instruments are attached to a robot, and the surgeon controls them via a console.
Unlike open surgery, these don’t require large cuts. That reduces trauma to the body.
Is Minimally Invasive Surgery Effective for Uterine Cancer?
Yes — especially in Stage 1 and early Stage 2 endometrial cancer. In these early stages, the cancer hasn't spread much, and the extent of surgery required is relatively small. That makes these approaches very effective and safe.
Benefits Over Open Surgery
Smaller incisions
Less blood loss
Reduced pain
Faster recovery
Shorter hospital stay
Quicker return to daily activities
These help improve quality of life post-surgery.
But Does the Surgical Method Change the Outcome?
No. The surgical goals remain the same in all three methods:
Remove the uterus
Remove ovaries and fallopian tubes
Perform sentinel node biopsy or lymph node dissection if needed
Whether done via open surgery, laparoscopy, or robotic method — the surgical steps are identical. The only difference is how they’re done.
A Simple Analogy
Think of it like eating food. Whether you use hands, a spoon, or chopsticks — the food is the same. Similarly, the surgery is the same, just the tools and access points vary.
When Should You Choose Laparoscopy or Robotic Surgery?
If your hospital has trained surgeons and facilities for minimally invasive surgery, and your case is early-stage uterine cancer, then these are good options to consider. They’re safe, effective, and patient-friendly.
