Norfolk Island

My grandmother loved Norfolk Island and I have fond memories of a t-shirt she brought back for me which had a convict with a ball and chain that said "I escaped Norfolk Island" ;-). So we had to visit the island at some point and after a few years of not being able to travel, we decided that July 2022 was the time.

Norfolk Island or "Burnt Pine" as it is also known, is a small Australian island in the South Pacific Ocean, defined by enormous pine trees, jagged cliffs, beautiful beaches and interesting history which was also gruesome at times.

It is only a short flight from Brisbane and it does feel like you are stepping back in time. This video showcases the "tourist" aspect of our visit as we also did a few days fishing which we have uploaded as two separate videos that you can check out as well if you're a keen fisherman ;-)

If you haven't visited Norfolk Island - you should add it to your list and we suggest that two weeks is an ideal time period to immerse yourself in its lifestyle and you should get a few nice days out on the water as well.
