Esquivas (escapes) are essential in Capoeira to dodge your partner's attacks. There are different types of esquivas in Capoeira. Today we are working on Esquiva Lateral.

Which esquiva to use will depend on 2 things:
what position you are in at the time of the kick
how you want to respond to your partner's kick

Each esquiva provides a different opportunity to further escape from your partner and/or counter attach your partner's kick or set them up for a different type of move (takedown or create space for a "Floreio".)
