Learning How to Back Up my Airstream Travel Trailer | Towing with a Weigh Safe Hitch

As a new airstream owner, I am learning lots every day. Learning how to back up has been a high priority on my to do list. Although I’m happy I was able to spend this day practicing backing up, I still have a long ways to go! In this video, I also go over prepping the trailer inside & out to be towed, hitching up, getting the airstream weighed, and practicing towing on the highway.

As promised, here is my teardown checklist:
Inside:
Stow and secure all loose items
Close and lock all windows
Turn off lights and appliances (water heater, water pump, A/C, etc)
Turn off and close ceiling fans
Latch fridge, TV, bathroom mirror, and shower door
Make sure toilet is only slightly filled to maintain seal and close lid

Outside:
Lock door
Retract step and awnings
Empty tanks if possible
Disconnect from water/sewer/electric
Latch vent closed
Turn off propane
Raise stabilizer jacks
Check tire pressure
Inflate tires to appropriate PSI if needed (mine is 80)
Tighten lug nuts with torque wrench (mine is 110 pound-feet)
Stow loose items and lock outside compartments
