We want to thank everyone who came out and ran with us for the 2017 Grand Blue Mile. Whether you walked in the recreational division, ran in the competitive division or were one of the elite athletes, thank you for making this year's race completely unforgettable! Over 2,500 runners and walkers came out to take a step towards a healthier life.

More than 35 elite milers from across the country traveled to Des Moines to vie for a national title and a share of the USATF 1 Mile Road Championships prize purse. Clayton Murphy finished on top out of the 19 men’s competitors, setting a new record with a sub-4-minute finish time of 3:59.96. Katie Mackey finished first in the group of 16 women runners, with a finish time of 4:37.00.
