SGC 2024 Day 2 - Data Analytics & Visualization

Описание к видео SGC 2024 Day 2 - Data Analytics & Visualization

Speakers: Andy Wallace, Diego Montecino, and Ruari Bradburn

1. SMARTeR, a package to bring SMART and R closer - Diego Montecino
The SMARTeR package facilitates the workflow between SMART 7 and the open source R statistical software. The package can prepare species tree Attributes to be loaded into a Data Model and load query output from SMART Connect in an R session, including all processed data (patrol tracks and incidents) in the Conservation Area as CSV, Shapefile, or GeoJson files. Furthermore, it can convert a Configurable Model into a flat table with the corresponding Categories, Attributes, and Options in a selected language. Examples will be provided in real time and potential applications will be discussed

2. Enhancing SMART for easier deployment and improved data visualisation - Andy Wallace
As part of a wider programme of work for WWF and their partners, Atos have been supporting the SMART team with enhancements to improve ease-of-use, design new dashboards and visualisations and plan for the development of a module for managing Human-Wildlife Conflict.
The Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC) module will build on existing tools developed by WWF and will utilise a cloud-based platform to enable more comprehensive reporting, analysis and visualisations.
Additionally, we are developing plans for a series of hackathons to utilise the digital skills of Atos staff to generate new ideas for insight and analysis and to provide a more personalised experience for users of SMART

3. Enhancing Conservation Analytics: SMART and ArcGIS in Dzanga-Sangha National Park - Ruari Bradburn

4. Data Analytics & Visualisation Discussion - ALL
Join us for an engaging session where we delve into the transformative power of data analytics and visualization in the field of wildlife conservation. This interactive discussion, titled "Data Analytics & Visualization in Wildlife Conservation," invites conservationists, data scientists, technologists, and stakeholders to explore the latest advancements and collaborative solutions that Atos is pioneering within the SMART suite.
The session will focus on the challenges and opportunities in harnessing data to combat Human Wildlife Conflict (HWC) and other pressing conservation issues. We will showcase the proposed dashboard features and the HWC module, designed to provide a seamless and integrated user experience. Participants will gain insights into how these tools can translate complex data into actionable intelligence through state-of-the-art visualization techniques.
