This evaluation is a Basic Manicure

Here is a breakdown of steps and tips for this topic area:

Manicure Set Up (10 minutes)
SANITIZE HANDS
Put on gloves and wipe down station
Even the sides of the table
Dispose of gloves in single use bin
Sanitize hands
Open bag, grab sanitized kit, close bag
Set up workstation
Place one towel down flat and then roll a 2nd towel as a wrist rest for the hand to rest
Place PST towel over both towels and tuck in back under the wrist rest
SANITIZE the hand then place on wrist rest towel
SANITIZE HANDS

Manicure Demo (20 minutes)
Grab cotton and put polish remover on cotton then remove any existing polish
Only one nail will have polish
Season the files and then file and shape the nails
Start with the pinky
Do not do back and forth motion - do one side to other side in one swoop or corner to center
Dispose file in Single Use bin
Sanitize hands
Soak hand in finger bath and use nail brush to clean the nails
Sanitize hands
Apply cuticle remover on each nail plate with the orangewood stick (wrap cotton on the end of the stick) starting with the pinky
Push back cuticles with a new orangewood stick also wrapped with cotton then dispose in Single Use bin
Be careful to not apply onto the skin
Use cotton to remove cuticle remover, then dispose in Single Use bin
Clean under free edge
Apply lotion and massage hand
Use cotton to remove lotion from nails on the hand with nail polish solution or 70% alcohol, dispose in Single Use bin

Manicure Clean Up (5 minutes)
SANITIZE HANDS
Dispose of items in appropriate bins
SANITIZE HANDS
Grab a pair of gloves and wipe down the station and wipe down underneath the items AND THE ITEMS ITSELF
Dispose of wipes and gloves into single use bin
