The Time-Strapped Gamer's Guide to Life Sims

If you're just a casual life sim player, you might be forgiven for thinking the genre solely consists of Stardew Valley, The Sims, and Animal Crossing. Many of the most visible life sims, especially farming sims, are incredibly complicated games featuring significant runtimes, repetitive busywork, and poor tutorials that leave the player doing a bunch of extra homework diving into their wikis. And none of that sounds particularly enjoyable for someone tight on time that just wants to unwind after the kids finally get to bed, does it? But as I found, it doesn't have to be that way, and the genre is growing more accessible every day. It doesn't matter how busy you are — there's a life sim out there for you! We just have to find you the right one.
