How to explore Spirit Island without anyone around | Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park, Alberta, CA

In the middle of July 2021, Heather and I partake a 3-day expedition in exploring Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park. On this incredible journey, we stop almost directly in the middle of the lake to check out a small dock setup for local tourist boats. These docks give access for tourists to discover Spirit Island.


Spirit Island is a tiny tied island in Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park. This landmark is the destination of boat trips across Maligne Lake, a view many people associate with the Canadian Rockies. Spirit Island enjoys worldwide reputation, and is one of the most famous and photographed views of the Canadian Rockies. Maligne Lake boat cruises offer close views of the island.
