What started as a smuggling mission has spiraled into a moral and strategic nightmare. At first, you were helping Gerda escort her buyer, only to find his camp destroyed by what seemed like a coordinated attack by madmen. This led to suspicions that the Gunpowder Syndicate – a powerful arms-dealing faction – might be trying to manipulate the irradiated madmen for their own purposes.

In pursuit of answers, you tracked down Gerda’s husband Anton, only to discover he'd been tortured and left for dead after attempting to sell a NATO prototype: the ELEC-3-O electromagnetic emitter. The device was believed to offer neural protection during nuclear war – but in the wrong hands, it could incite unprecedented violence in madmen.

After retrieving the emitter from Arkasha the Mournful, a deranged ex-Syndicate sadist, Gerda betrayed you, stealing the device with the intent to keep it from Syndicate control. Her motives were personal – Anton’s death had broken her, and the Syndicate's cold indifference only added fuel to her fury.

By Quest 4, you were chasing Gerda across the wasteland, uncovering that Comrade Mauser (the Syndicate’s commander) was using you as bait to find her. The situation escalated, trust collapsed, and the emitter was hit during a firefight – leaving it stuck in an active state, endlessly provoking madmen across the region.

Now, in Moment of Truth, Gerda is ready to make her move: drive the emitter into the heart of the Syndicate base and let the madmen finish what she started. But Mauser claims he can safely destroy the device in a secure bunker – if you stop her in time.

You’re caught between two powers:

🟦 A Syndicate leader with a suspicious promise of peace

Whatever you decide, it will define the fate of ELEC-3-O, the Syndicate, and possibly the entire region…
