Faculty members from various foreign design schools visit VIT and conduct classes for the students. This gives the students a global perspective on the current trends and prospective future of industrial designing. The School offers following programmes:
UG:

The Fully Flexible Credit System (FFCS) at VIT enables students to enrol for inter-disciplinary courses that helps add value to their knowledge and skills. The Project Component in the curriculum provides the students an opportunity to give shape to their ideas. Feedback from peers and faculty members help them to develop the models further. The Students are made to undergo 2 internships: One, at a place of their choice (1 Month) and the other, arranged by the School (6 Months). This gives the students the exposure to understand how the industry works and what the real challenges in designing are. Some of the students get placed in the companies at the end of their internships.
The clubs and chapters at VIT facilitate a platform for students to showcase and improve their extra-curricular as well as technical skills. These activities also add value to the students’ profile. The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), a membership-based not-for-profit organization that promotes the practice and education of industrial design, has a chapter in VIT. This is the only chapter of IDSA in India. Various Events like MAGIX, Design-o-thons, Hackathons, Seminars and Workshops organised by the School provides the students an opportunity to interact with Industry Experts, witness different ideas and learn multiple ways to solve problems.
