The first generation Monte Carlo marked a new direction for Chevrolet, away from the muscle car era of the mid to late 60s, and toward the personal luxury coupe theme that would mark the incoming malaise era.

Americans were looking for more luxury, and Chevy found the mark by offering it at a lower price than the competition. Affordable personal luxury was what people were looking for, and they rewarded Chevrolet with the best selling car in the segment, more than 2 to 1 over the Grand Prix and Ford's Thunderbird.

This is a very clean and original 1972 model from Uncle Johnny's collection. It is not for sale at this time.

Review and test drive by Bill of Curious Cars.
