*Two-Day AYUSHCON-2024 Conference Successfully Concludes at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi*
A grand event of AYUSHCON-2024, organized by Ayushman, was held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, under the theme "The Foundation of a Developed India: Health through AYUSH." The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana. The opening session was attended by senior leaders such as Shri K.C. Tyagi, a prominent leader of JDU; Swami Sarvalokanand, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, New Delhi; Rajya Sabha Member Shri Ram Chandra Jangra; Dr. Shishta Nadda Basu, President of Integrated AYUSH Council; Dr. Raghvendra Rao, Director of CCRYN, Ministry of AYUSH.
In the opening speech, Dr. Bipin Kumar, the organizer of Ayushman, honored all the distinguished guests present on the stage with shawls and mementos. In his welcome address, Dr. Kumar expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Shri K.C. Tyagi, Swami Sarvalokanand, Shri Ram Chandra Jangra, Dr. Shishta Nadda Basu, and Dr. Raghvendra Rao for attending the conference and making it a success.

The Governor of Telangana, His Excellency Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, gave the closing remarks for the opening session. He praised the efforts of Dr. Bipin Kumar and emphasized the need to adopt yoga and AYUSH for better health. He encouraged the audience, especially women, to walk daily and advised girls to be courageous and fearless. He also shared a famous proverb: "When wealth is lost, nothing is lost. When health is lost, something is lost, but when character is lost, everything is lost." He extended his best wishes to the organizing committee for a successful event.
After the lunch break, experts such as Dr. Vinod Kumar Yadav, Dr. Deshraj from the Indian Yoga Institute, Dr. Nita Kumar from ICMR, Dr. Bswaroop Roy Choudhary (a renowned diabetic expert), and others shared their insights on the importance of AYUSH and yoga in modern times. Dr. Nita Kumar stressed the importance of Ayurveda and disciplined eating habits for maintaining health. Dr. Biswaroop Roy Choudhary warned about the rising cases of cancer, highlighting that cancer cells are already present in the body, and unhealthy lifestyles activate these cells.
On the second day of AYUSHCON-2024, Dr. Bipin Kumar acknowledged the presence of distinguished guests such as Shri Indresh Kumar (Senior Pracharak, RSS), Shri D.P. Mishra (National Vice President, World Hindi Council), Dr. D.C. Jain, Shri Shailesh Vats, and others. He expressed his happiness at the large gathering and emphasized the need to promote AYUSH for the future generations. Shri Indresh Kumar spoke about the importance of family and society, stating that health, happiness, and beauty are enemies of various negative emotions like anger, hatred, and jealousy. He highlighted that yoga is a successful method to address these issues in daily life.
Professor Sandhya Vatsyan, Chairperson of the Educational Wing of the World Hindi Council and Professor at Delhi University, expressed gratitude to all the distinguished guests and attendees. She mentioned that the conference had been a fruitful exchange of ideas, likening it to a "churning" that is bringing forth nectar for the betterment of health. She concluded by thanking Dr. Bipin Kumar and all the participants for their contributions.
Ayurvedic expert Dr. Himanshu Verma advocated for the adoption of Ayurvedic methods to prevent and treat diseases. He noted that allopathic medicine should be used only when we abandon the discipline of Ayurveda.
In the concluding session, Dr. Bipin Kumar highlighted that the root cause of diseases is the modern lifestyle, where people often prefer spicy and fast foods over sattvic (pure) food, contributing to the onset of illness. He expressed concern about the increasing stress among students and suggested that yoga could be a powerful tool to combat this issue.
Dr. Bipin Kumar concluded the conference by appreciating the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in promoting AYUSH and thanked the Prime Minister, Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda, AYUSH Minister Shri Pratap Rao Jadhav, and AYUSH Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha for their dedication in advancing the AYUSH sector. He acknowledged the collective efforts that have led to the global recognition of AYUSH, bringing traditional Indian healing practices into the mainstream of global health services.
He also thanked all the distinguished guests, attendees from different parts of India, and assured them of future invitations for similar programs. The conference was a significant step toward promoting a healthy, sustainable, and spiritually enriched lifestyle through AYUSH.
