This technique can help us get more compact plants that don't require stakes and don't get too leggy, it can extend the flowering season, and/or delay the flowering time of our plants.

This super easy pruning technique is an essential technique that we can use in the late spring with various herbaceous perennials to achieve a look that we want in our garden. In this video I explain what the Chelsea Chop is, which plants appreciate this pruning technique, which plants should not undergo this technique and finally three different ways to use this technique to achieve different outcomes in our gardens.
