The Supreme Court has taken serious note of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar. Responding to petitions raising concerns over possible mass exclusion of voters, the bench said it will "step in" if irregularities are proven. The court has asked petitioners to point out specific illegal omissions once the Draft List is published on August 1 and scheduled the matter for further hearing on August 12–13.
