The Fast and Furious franchise has had a long and surprisingly convoluted history, so here we have a short, relatively straightforward explanation of all the big plot beats and in what order they happened. From the initial DVD heist hijinks of The Fast and the Furious waaaay back in 2001, all the way through 2017’s Fate of the Furious. Hobbs and Shaw would be covered, but honestly… who really needs that movie recapped? Ya feel me?

Anyway, we touch on several big events, including the death of Dom’s father. This is a pivotal moment in his life and I only bring it up because there’s a very real chance we’ll actually be flashing back to this moment in F9. Long story short, a d-bag stock car racer by the name of Kenny Linder clipped Dom’s father’s car and sent him crashing into a wall, killing him. It’s a very tragic moment that left a lasting impact on Dom. There’s also Letty’s apparent death and then resurrection, in which it turns out she simply got caught on the wrong side of an exploding car, wound up with amnesia, and joined an international crime ring. Wild times! And that’s just the surface of this action packed soap opera!
