The Gourd luffa:-

A standard sponge gourd also known as Vegetable Sponge or Dishcloth Gourd. Vigorous vines from which fruit can be harvested over a long period of time. It is the only plant known that can be raised and used as a sponge. The sponges are very versatile in that they can be used for bathing, washing dishes or scrubbing. The Luffa is widely used for bathing to invigorate the skin as well as gift giving and crafts. Germination rate 80% or better. Your actual rate will vary considerably due to location. Harvest dry in about 120 days. Germination rate is 70% or better.
