Differences between Cervical collar lymph nodes and Waldeyer's lymphatic ring

Описание к видео Differences between Cervical collar lymph nodes and Waldeyer's lymphatic ring

i. BASED ON LOCATION
: Pericervical collar lymph nodes are located just above the upper part of the neck while waldeyer’s lymphatic ring are situated at the entrance of the pharynx (Nasopharynx)

ii. BASED ON COMPONENTS
: Pericervical collar group of lymph nodes is made up of the following components; Mental nodes, submandibular nodes, mastoid nodes, parotid nodes and occipital nodes
While waldeyer’s lymphatic ring is made up of an aggregation of lymphoid tissues such as; Pharyngeal tonsil superiorly, Tubal tonsil superolaterally, Palatine tonsil laterally and Lingual tonsil inferiorly

iii. BASED ON DRAINAGE PATTERN:
Pericervical collar group of lymph nodes drain to the deep cervical lymph node. On the right, deep cervical lymph nodes drain into the right lymphatic angle between the right subclavian vein and right internal jugular vein.
On the left it drains into the left venous angle at the junction of left subclavian vein and left internal jugular vein.
While the internal ring of waldeyer’s drain into pericervical chain of lymph nodes and deep cervical lymph node, which together form the external ring of waldeyer’s

iv. BASED ON FUNCTION
: Pericervical collar lymphatics, serve as the major lymphatic drainage of the scalp, while waldeyer’s lymphatic ring are aggregation of lymphatic ring at the entrance of the pharynx which prevent spread of infection from oral and nasal cavities into the lower respiratory tract.
