Gen Rawat Killed l Journey From ‘Sword Of Honour’ At IMA To India’s First Chief Of Defence Staff

India has lost one of its bravest soldiers. Chief Of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat has been killed in a chopper crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. The Indian Air Force confirmed his demise in a tweet, adding that his wife and 11 others were also killed in the crash. Gen Rawat was a trusted officer whose experience & outlook was recognised by the Modi govt. General Rawat came into the limelight when the Modi govt appointed him as the Chief of Army Staff, superseding two of his seniors. CDS Bipin Rawat was known for his experience in high altitude warfare and counter-insurgency operations.
