At Pure Plastic Surgery, patient's safety is always our number one priority. And one of the most important things that we do regarding patient's safety is using the ultrasound while we do the fat transfer of the BBL procedure.

This is incredibly important because if you place that too deep into or below the muscle, there are dangerous blood vessels there that if they are lacerated, fat can get into those vessels creating what's called a fat embolism, which is very, very dangerous and potentially deadly.

So we use the ultrasound imaging, so that I can see the tip of the cannula while I'm placing the fat in what's called the danger zone. So, that's the area where those vessels are located, that way I know exactly where I'm placing my fat. I know that I'm between the skin and the muscle and therefore away from those vessels, making it a much safer procedure for our patients.
