At Sharada Prabha, we educate children about not only scriptural traditions but also folk traditions such as Chhath Puja. Observed soon after Deepawali, Chhath Puja is a festival celebrated across North and East India, and in Nepal, during which devotees offer prayers to Surya, the Sun God, and Shashthi (Chhathi Maiya), his sister and a revered goddess. Regarded as the protector of children, deity of fertility and divine guardian of midwives, Shashthi Devi is propitiated to bless conception, assist during childbirth and safeguard children from illness.

This artwork was created on 29 October 2025 in honour of National Cat Day, which raises awareness about cat adoption and care — especially meaningful for us since Pet Education is an integral part of the curriculum at Sharada Prabha.
