we spent the day at a local vlei after driving around for most of the morning looking for a spot to fish. we ended up 5 minutes away from the house of where we'd started and managed to hook up on some big healthy carp. a year ago there was a massive sewage spill caused by I'll management from "loadshedding" (as they like to call it) from last year that had killed off all the fish in the lake. our persistence paid off in the end.
