Form 6: New Enrollment

Form 8: Correction and Shifting
Purpose: Used for updating or fixing details of an existing voter record.
Function: Handles name corrections, date of birth changes, or photo updates.
Shifting: Used if you move to a new house but stay within the same constituency.
Replacement: It is the standard form to request a replacement for a lost or damaged ID card.
Disability: Used to mark a voter as a "Person with Disability" for polling station assistance.

SIR: Service Voter Category
Definition: Refers to Service Voters like the Armed Forces or Govt. employees posted abroad.
Registration: They register through specialized forms (like Form 2 or 3) rather than Form 6.
Voting Method: They are eligible to vote via Postal Ballot or the electronic ETPBS system.
Location: Their names are listed in the "Last Part" of the electoral roll of their home town.
Proxy Option: Service voters also have the unique right to appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf.
