In this video, I explain how to use the Trim and Proper functions in Excel.

What is the Trim function in Excel?
The Trim removes all spaces from text except for single spaces between words. Use TRIM on text that you have received from another application that may have irregular spacing.
Syntax:
=TRIM(text)
Text (required): The text from which you want spaces removed.

What is the Proper Function in Excel?
The PROPER function in Excel converts a text string to proper case, capitalizing the first letter of each word and converting all other letters to lowercase.
Syntax:
=PROPER(Text)
Text (required): Text enclosed in quotation marks, a formula that returns text, or a reference to a cell containing the text you want to partially capitalize.
