09 Leh to Manali - Road Adventure on a Suzuki Jimny

In this video we will take along with us on our journey from Leh to Manali retracing the patch by which we came in different light conditions. We saw Taglang La, Baralacha La, Suraj Tal, Jispa during the day which presented an altogether different landscape from what we had seen earlier. As we had gained good experience driving in the conditions we had a pleasant drive for most parts.


We got a good look at a lone ranger cyclist as we waited for the road to clear near Upshi. My heart goes out to these brave young men doing it all on a shoe string budget.

The views between Pang and 'The Hole' and the road widening work make this India's wild north like the wild west of the US.

A pair of Bharal, native Himalayan "blue sheep" waiting for us to pass.

After Gata Loops..."Dont be a Gama in the Land of Lama", the saying goes. Sobered by Gata Loops, we allowed some aggressive "Gamas" to pass.

We are held up here while approaching Baralacha La pass by this light truck struggling to negotiate the sloping bad patch here.

We enjoyed the views while waiting for the truck to negotiate the slope. The truck remained stranded. We eventually passed it through the narrow gap on its right

Hungry kya? Yes. We ate a Maggi noodles meal at Zing Zing Bar and recalled the story of Zangbo and Zing Zing Bar.

The beautiful views start as we approach Jispa. During our journey from Manali to Sarchu we had hurried through Jispa.
The banks of the river Bhaga, a tributary of Chandrabhaga/Chenab look very beautiful at Jispa.

We made a quick dash to Kasol after we reached Manali. Beautiful views between Shaat and Jari on the way.

The Parvati river in full flow at Kasol. We had a sumptuous dinner at MoonDance Kasol Cafe & Bar and dashed back to Manali.
