Pac-land Video Game Conversion Comparisons

Описание к видео Pac-land Video Game Conversion Comparisons

Gameplay videos of the various versions of Pac-Land that were released for a range of computers and consoles during the 1980s and 1990s.

Pac-Land is a sequel to the classic arcade game Pac-Man, and is based on the spin-off cartoon series of the same name. It was originally released in arcades in 1984 and was converted to a range of systems over the following years. It is one of the first side-scrolling platform video games and seems to feature our hero on a mission to reach a fairy at the end of Pac-Land and return home.

Versions of the game in this video are from the arcade original, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Nintendo Entertainment System, Commodore Amiga, Commodore 64, Atari Lynx and PC Engine/Turbografx-16.

Some of the scrolling appears a little jerky in the games, although in reality they play a lot smoother (the NES and Commodore 64 versions are especially smooth in terms of scrolling, whereas the Amiga version, which appears smoothest in this video, is actually the jerkiest!). Edits have been made to some of the gameplay to cut out lengthy areas, intermissions, loading times.
