Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, Rep. Tom Emmer, state Rep. Harry Niska and Paul Schnell, the commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Corrections, testified Thursday in the first of two immigration enforcement panels before the Senate Homeland Security Committee. A second panel will feature testimony by Todd Lyons, the acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement; Rodney Scott, the commissioner of Customs and Border Protection; and Joseph Edlow, the director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
